軋機的輥系在換輥前可以預(yù)安裝并調(diào)整好，軋機停車后只需較短時間即可換上新輥系。而新輥系經(jīng)少量試軋后即能軋出合格產(chǎn)品。因此這種軋機可調(diào)性能好，成材率高。

短應(yīng)力線軋機可制成二輥式、三輥式或四輥式多種形式的軋機。在型鋼、線材和板帶鋼生產(chǎn)中部有應(yīng)用。
