硬質(zhì)合金軋輥是在硬質(zhì)合金刀具的基礎(chǔ)上發(fā)展而來(lái)的，硬質(zhì)合金是采用堅(jiān)硬的碳化鎢顆粒硬質(zhì)相與鎳、鈷等黏結(jié)相金屬燒結(jié)而成。硬質(zhì)合金的性能取決于碳化鎢顆粒尺寸的大小和黏結(jié)相金屬含量的多少，當(dāng)黏結(jié)相金屬中含有一定量的鎳和鉻時(shí)，不僅會(huì)大大提高軋輥的抗熱疲勞性能。硬質(zhì)合金軋輥的優(yōu)點(diǎn)是硬度高、耐磨性好，單槽軋鋼量可以達(dá)到高速鋼軋輥的兩倍。

Cemented carbide rolls are developed on the basis of cemented carbide tools. Cemented carbide is made of hard tungsten carbide particles and hard phase sintered together with nickel and cobalt bonded phases. The properties of cemented carbide depend on the size of tungsten carbide particle and the content of bonding phase metal. When the amount of nickel and chromium in the bonding phase contains metal, it will not only greatly improve the thermal fatigue resistance of the roller.
