輥道是利用圓筒式的輥?zhàn)又D(zhuǎn)動(dòng)來(lái)輸送軋件的運(yùn)輸設(shè)備。它把軋制生產(chǎn)過(guò)程的各個(gè)工序互相聯(lián)結(jié)起來(lái)。實(shí)現(xiàn)操作機(jī)械化，大大改善勞動(dòng)條件，提高生產(chǎn)效率，為實(shí)現(xiàn)自動(dòng)化操作提供條件。

主要工作輥道緊靠工作機(jī)架，它將軋件喂入軋機(jī)和接受軋出軋件，因此它是經(jīng)常參加工作的輥道，故稱(chēng)主要工作輥道。

軋件長(zhǎng)度超過(guò)主要工作輥道時(shí)，由另一組工作輥道參加工作，這一組輥道叫輔助工作輥道，或稱(chēng)為延伸輥道。

緊接著出坯輥道的是橫移區(qū)輥道，該區(qū)輥道接受出坯輥道來(lái)的鑄坯，將鑄坯輸送至固定擋板之前，由橫移機(jī)構(gòu)將每流鑄坯輸送到冷床或其他區(qū)域。
