爐子壽命長。由于高溫作用、機械磨損和腐蝕等因素的綜合作用，爐子不可避免會有損壞，必須定期對爐子進(jìn)行檢修，應(yīng)盡可能延長爐之的使用壽命，降低費用。

勞動條件好。要求爐子的機械化及自動化程度高，操作條件好，安全衛(wèi)生，對環(huán)境無污染。

加熱爐的分類:

1.有純加熱爐，如常壓爐、減壓爐等；有加熱爐反應(yīng)爐，如裂解爐、焦化爐等。  

2.按傳熱方式分類：有純對流式爐、輻射對流式爐和輻射式爐。
