賓語從句

　　1．用that， what， how， when， which， why， whether， if 等引起的賓語從句，翻譯成漢語的時(shí)候，一般不需要改變它在原句中的順序。

　　I told him that because of the last condition， I’d have to turn it down.

　　我告訴他，由于那后一個(gè)條件，我只得謝絕。

　　Can you hear what I say?

　　你聽得到我所講的嗎？

　　I don’t know that he swam across the river.

　　我不知道他游過了那條河。

　　I don’t know how he swam across the river.

用增詞法譯出名詞復(fù)數(shù)漢語是賴以加數(shù)量詞或其它詞的方式表示復(fù)數(shù)之意，而英語是賴以名詞詞尾的復(fù)雜變化形式表示復(fù)數(shù)。一般說來，在漢譯英語復(fù)數(shù)名詞時(shí)，應(yīng)該增補(bǔ)表示復(fù)數(shù)含義的詞，如“們”、“好幾個(gè)”、“許多”、“那些”、“一批”、“一些”、“各個(gè)” 等等。這樣會(huì)使語義更加明確、完整。如:⑴But that the old workers helped us，we should havefailed.本句中的名詞復(fù)數(shù)workers應(yīng)當(dāng)譯出，全句可譯為“要不是老工人們的幫助，丹陽翻譯公司報(bào)價(jià)，我們早就失敗了”。⑵The moving parts of a machine are often oiled that fric2tion may be greatly reduced.在翻譯這句話時(shí)，1好把parts的復(fù)數(shù)含義表達(dá)出來，增加“各個(gè)”一詞，譯為“機(jī)器的各個(gè)可動(dòng)部件常常涂上潤滑油，以便大大減少摩擦”。⑶The meals can be had at the restaurant，the workers′canteen and the school dinning2room.漢譯時(shí)，把meals用增詞法譯為“一日三餐”，全句可譯成“一日三餐可以在飯館里、工廠食堂里或?qū)W校飯廳里吃”。

同位語從句

　　2．有時(shí)候在翻譯同位語從句時(shí)，可以將其放在所修飾的名詞前面，相當(dāng)于前置的修飾語，但不一定使用定語的標(biāo)志詞“的”。這種情況下，同位語從句都是比較簡單。

　　The rumor that he was arrested was unfounded.

　　關(guān)于他被1捕的傳聞是沒有根據(jù)的。

　　3．增加“即”（或者“以為”）這樣的詞來連接，或用冒號、破折號直接分開主句和同位語從句。 　　

　　But this does not in any way alter the fact that they are now， from a practical point of view， irrational.

　　但這卻絲毫改變不了這樣一個(gè)事實(shí)，即從實(shí)用的觀點(diǎn)來看，他們今天仍是不合理的。

　　We have reached the conclusion that practice is the criterion for testing truth.
